Thoughts often come such as, "should I be spending most of mytime doing affiliate marketing activities or should I instead focus on developing and marketing my own original products?" Now...the best and ideal answer for marketers is actually to do both things. However therealitystill remains for so many new and intermediate marketers. How to get organized and stay organized while saving tons of time — HOT TIP!

Here is a very helpful and quick system describing how to get yourself organized and stay organized as an internet marketer, online business person, and/or simply a person on the computer for much of your day (and life ).

Over the years I have narrowed down an easy file organization system that I feel really, reallyworks well for me. Here it is. There are three major work spaces on the computer where I store specific categories of information that I want to be able to retrieve quickly and easily later. The three areas are

1) folders on my computer hard drive

2) bookmarks on my web browser

3) inside my email application

It's probablyaccurate to say that I am working in one of these 3 areas at any particular moment unless I am doing word processing with MS Word or using a desktop software application. What I have done is create categories (really just folders) related to my areas of interest. Since I am an internet marketer, I am always thinking about things like graphics (for my sites), list building, Craigslist (because I use it), keywords, private label rights, ebay, etc. As you can see the possibilities are endless and there is no right or wrong. When I come across something on the net that I want to remember or have quick future access to, I place it in the appropriate category or I create a new category on the spot.

Whatever I am doing at the moment such as surfing the web or reading/writing emails, I take the shortest path to save the material. Often I will even save the same thing in all three different workspaces if it is important. Here is one picture. First and most obviously I bookmark sites, but it is vitally important to not only bookmark it but place them in the proper folder/category for easy future retrieval. You can create new folders on the spot as I mentioned. I have tons of email categories/folders that I have also created. I am always moving important emails into the appropriate folders, even ones that I have written. I do this also with product receipts and passwords. It only takes a second. I found this to be better and faster than tying to retrieve information from memory by performing email box searches. Often I don't even remember the exact words that I need to be searching for.

For example, if I subscribe to a graphics website's newsletter or free trial, when they email me the confirmation I place that into my graphics email folder. That way I can always have quick access to that website anytime when I later am thinking about graphics. Sometimes you find really cool things on the web and completely forget about them for months or even years. This organization system prevents that. I may be working on graphics a year later and can go into either my browser bookmarks, graphics folder in 'my documents', or email graphics folder. If I need to download anything about graphics whether it is a software or free template, I download it to the folder on my hard drive in 'my documents'. I also create subfolders that gets more specific such as headers, footers, opt in boxes, etc. One good tip is to place all of your category folders in one place on your hard drive. The strength of this system is also that whatever I am doing at any moment, I can quickly save it in an organized and methodical fashion. That makes me feel good. It may sound basic, but it works smoothly. And that's just how I how to get and stay organized with your own work.

And by the way... don't neglect to back up your files and hard drive as it will crash at the most unexpected time. I use Mozy which costs just under $4.95 a month for unlimited backup space.

With this clear information in hand, you can easily see any open windows of opportunity (if any) with a particular keyword. Traffic Travis virtually then tells you literally what steps you will need to take to get your page in or around that desired top Google ranking. The tool additionally includes PPC (pay per click) competitor spying and competition analysis. The free version does a lot of this, but for everything I have mentioned you can get the PRO version for a one time cost of $97. Traffic Travis is a lot more than a simple keyword finder.

3) Keyword Elite 2.0 just came out this year and WOW! It does things that no other keyword finder will on the planet. To learn more, visit the site and immediately obtain a free copy of 'The Keyword Minute" which illustrates three simple but profitable uses of this software. There are many more.

4) Buyer Keyword Generator - As you may already know, buyer keywords are without any question the most important type of keywords, and you really need to fully understand them being a marketer yourself.
